At Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tenn. we’ve combined two of our biggest history-related weekends into one huge exploration of the past. April 5-7, 2019 you’ll experience a great weekend for professional and amateur historians, students, lifetime learners or those who just love unique, one-of-a-kind experiences. The weekend is filled with interpreters in period clothing, encampments, examples of military transportation, reenactments of actual battles and more. Of course, the weekend won’t be complete without a visit to DPA’s Military Gallery featuring artifacts and memorabilia from the Civil War, World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War.
This activity-filled weekend is a must-do for anyone, whether you are a history buff or not. We welcome friends from all over, especially near Nashville, Memphis, Clarksville, Jackson and Paducah to attend at least one if not all three days. Cannon firing, weapon demonstrations, a ladies’ tea and more are all scheduled for this great weekend.
The Civil War and Military Living History Weekend is free with your park admission. Members are free.
The encampment and stations are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 5-7, 2019.
