It’s a three-day weekend! Woo! And there are plenty of things you could be doing this Labor Day weekend at Discovery Park of America! And yes, there is something that everyone in the family will enjoy.
Saturday Morning Science – September 1
Start off your morning right by learning all about the science of EKGs with college professors ! There will be interactive experiments that everyone can enjoy, and the best part: it’s 100% FREE to attend! The class starts at 9:30 a.m. and lasts about one hour. Then, you can purchase your general admission ticket and stay and play at the park! See: it’s a win-win for everyone in the family.
Wildlife Education Program – September 1
After you have learned about EKGs in the Saturday Morning Science program, you can learn something else! Our Wildlife team is bringing in Tennessee State Park Naturalist, Randy Hedgepath, to give a short presentation on Tennessee Wildflowers! This program is free with your park admission or membership pass, and will be at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Reelfoot Room. After each program, Hedgepath will be available outside to walk through our grounds and talk about the flowers you see each time you visit Discovery Park of America!
OPEN Labor Day! – September 3
You read that right: Discovery Park of America will be OPEN on Labor Day! Usually the park is closed on Mondays, but we are opening the doors at 10:00 a.m. and discounting admission to only $10 per person! Members, you get in free, as well as children 3 and under. Our events teams will have out bounce houses, face painting, kids’ karaoke, and GIANT Jenga on the Great Lawn for the kiddos to enjoy! But parents – we didn’t forget about you! Labor Day is your LAST CHANCE to experience the Science of Rock N Roll! Walk through the history of how Rock N Roll began, and give a go at the electric guitar, drums and mixing table. This is an additional cost to your $10 admission.
And there you have the rundown of what’s going on this Labor Day weekend! We look forward to seeing you, your friends and your family here at Discovery Park of America!
