Discovery Park of America Announces Lineup for Outdoor Summer Concert Series, ‘Rhythm on the Rails’
Union City, Tenn.— Discovery Park of America has announced the lineup for the 2020 outdoor summer concert series, “Rhythm on the Rails,” that will begin on Fri., June 26 with a performance by the Grammy award-winning blues band, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band.
After reopening the 50-acre outdoor heritage park successfully and safely, the decision was made to shift the schedule and continue with the plan for live music outside near the Train Depot on Friday evenings in June and July, with the addition of guidelines for bars and restaurants recommended by Tennessee’s Economic Recovery Group.
“Having an outdoor summer music series near the Depot is perfect because families can enjoy the wide open space of the park, catch some fish, eat good food and listen to great talent while maintaining a safe six-foot distance from other guests,” said Lauren Jones, director of events at the park. “We are excited to welcome back guests and have new guidelines—like masks and social distancing—in place for our staff who will be working these nights.”
Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs and fishing gear. The gate near the Train Depot will open at 5:30 p.m., and music will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for members, $5 for nonmembers.
The headliners for the rest of the summer include:
Several other bands will be performing throughout the music series, including Tyler Goodson; Brent Hinson and Matt Crosson; Steve Short and Keith Brown; Olivia Faye; Katie Thorpe Tohn and Kicking Keys with Roger and Barry; and Blair and Madison.
