Since reopening to the public in June 2020, Discovery Park of America has remained committed to strict guidelines to keep our guests and staff safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Beginning April 22, 2021, masks will no longer be required at Discovery Park, but will be optional.
Discovery Park of America’s museum and 50-Acre heritage park are now open with entry through the main entrance.
We are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Hours of Operation:
Low Season
August – May
Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday
Open 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday
Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays
High Season
June – July
Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday – Saturday
Open 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday
To make your experience more enjoyable, please note the following guidelines:
- No food or drinks may be brought into the park from outside.
- No pets.
- No weapons.
- All bags will be checked.
- Please do not enter the park if you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat right now, or have experienced symptoms like a fever, a new loss of taste or smell, vomiting or diarrhea or fever in the last 48 hours.
- Please maintain a safe distance of at least six feet between your group and employees and other visitors near you while at Discovery Park.
- You will see hand-sanitizing stations throughout the museum and park. Please use those frequently.
- Be sure to wash hands more frequently, avoid touching your face, practice good respiratory etiquette like sneezing into your elbow rather than into the air.
- Prepackaged food and beverage are available in the park.
- A nurse is always on duty. Should you feel you need one at any time, just let one of our staff know.
DISCOVERY CENTER IS OPEN
Discovery Center, our 100,000-square-foot museum is open with entry through the main doors.
Special attractions including the Starship Theater, the Earthquake Simulator and the Cooper Tower are open but only at 50 percent capacity to allow for adequate social distancing.
The outdoor Children’s Discovery Garden, the Simmons Bank Children’s Exploration Gallery including the Giant Slide will be open with scheduled cleaning times and social distancing guidelines in place.

Turn left on W Reelfoot Ave
Turn right on US-51 N
Turn left onto Graham Dr then follow the signs to Discovery Park of America

Take Exit 8 to merge onto TN-14 N
Take Mt Carmel Rd to US-51 N in Covington
Continue to US-51 N and take the left 2 lanes to stay on US-51 N
Turn left onto Graham Dr then follow the signs to Discovery Park of America

Take US-45 S
Merge onto US-45 Byp S/Purchase Parkway S
Purchase Pkwy S becomes US-51S
Take the US-45W S/US-51 exit toward Union City/Memphis

Turn left to US Hwy 45 S
Turn right onto Fulgham Rd
