Our Mission

Inspire Children and Adults to See Beyond

Since Discovery Park of America opened its doors in 2013, millions of children and adults have benefited from the big idea of Robert Kirkland and the community of Union City, Tennessee to create a place where inspiration would happen every single day. That means inspiration to learn, inspiration to grow, inspiration to consider new ideas and inspiration to see beyond wherever an individual is in life, regardless of age or education.

“Discovery Park of America should enhance education for children as well as adults and do it in an entertaining way. I hope it will be a destination that people will visit again and again and walk away each time with an expectation for continued innovation.”

—Robert Kirkland, Founder of Discovery Park of America

With exhibits and interactive, hands-on experiences focused on science, transportation, technology, history, art and more, you literally never know what inspiration you’ll discover right around the corner.

From the students who get to visit because their teacher took them out of the classroom for a hands-on, state-of-the-art learning experience, to the families who visit from around the world to discover something new, to adults who participate in classes and panel discussions on a variety of topics relevant today, Discovery Park is making a big difference in the lives of the communities we serve. This could not happen without individuals and organizations who support the mission with their time, talents and financial resources.
