Celebrate Earth Day April 22, 2022

Apr 22nd, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Earth Day is held by EARTHDAY.ORG, an organization whose mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. They are the largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action to our planet.

On April 22, we will celebrate Earth Day with programs and activities that will educate guests on the Earth and the different ways that we can invest in our planet.

Schedule:

Magnetic World: Learn about Earth’s magnetic field, also known as the geomagnetic field, with hands-on demonstrations from Discovery Park educators. 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in Dinosaur Hall

Touch Tables: Get up close and personal with wildlife rescued from all over the region. 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Regional History Gallery

There are many ways that we celebrate Earth Day every day here at Discovery Park by investing in our planet and educating guests on the Earth.

Visit our exhibit, “AgriCulture: Innovating for Our Survival” in the Simmons Bank Ag Center to gain an understanding of how food, fuel and fiber get from the farm to the family and the role that technological, scientific and genetic innovation in agriculture plays in society and culture around the world.

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we have installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to allow visitors to fully charge their vehicles while they visit the museum.

All programs associated with the event are included with park admission or membership.
