The 7th TN Cavalry Dismounted will be at Discovery Park on June 10-12, 2022 for historical interpretations and education.
The group will be camping in Freedom Square and educating guests on what Civil War soldiers ate and their rations, saddle and tack, cavalry drills, saber drills, Civil War tents and more.
The group will present demonstrations of cavalry and saber drills during their visit. After each presentation, guests are encouraged to ask questions and learn more about the war that divided our country.

Friday, June 10
12 p.m. – “What Soldiers Ate: Civil War Rations” – Learn about the types of foods that Civil War soldiers ate.
1 p.m. – “How Soldiers Slept” – View the types of tents soldiers used on the march or in static camps.
Saturday, June 11
11 a.m. – “What Soldiers Ate: Civil War Rations” – Learn about the types of foods that Civil War soldiers ate.
12 p.m. – “How Soldiers Slept” – View the types of tents soldiers used on the march or in static camps.
2 p.m. – Firing demonstration with a weapons discussion to follow
3 p.m. – Saber Drill: View the drill taught to the Union Cavalry on their most famous weapon, the saber.
