About Real Bodies

Since humans first evolved, we have been striving to understand our bodies, why we exist and where we are ultimately headed.We all want to know how we work, how blood circulates through our bodies and how our brain tells our mouths to talk.We want to know why we experience love and fear, and why we do some of the things we do as a species. REAL BODIES: The Exhibition, from Imagine, challenges and deepens our understanding of these questions by exploring what defines humans both physically and emotionally.

This powerful and thought-provoking exhibit explores human anatomy through preserved human specimens and over 200 anatomical displays. Visitors will journey through the human experience, examining life from the first breath to the last. The updated exhibition also includes the latest science-based insights on COVID-19, with engaging content about its impact on the human body.

Exhibition Highlights

  • These real human bodies have been meticulously dissected and preserved through an innovative polymer process.
  • The bodies are respectfully presented, giving visitors the opportunity to view the beauty and complexity of their own organs and systems.
  • The Exhibition provides an up-close look inside our skeletal, muscular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, reproductive/urinary, fetal and the treated body.
  • Authentic human specimens on display to illustrate health concerns such as cirrhosis of the liver, arthritis, smoking and over-eating.
  • A healthy lung is featured next to a black lung ravaged by smoking in a vivid comparison more powerful than any textbook image.
