Tony Arata, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame since 2012, has had his songs recorded by Dolly Parton, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks, Delbert McClinton, Hal Ketchum, Don Williams, Lainey Wilson, Charlie Worsham, Del McCoury, Mountain Heart and others.
With four No. 1 songs to his credit, including Brooks’ “The Dance,” for which he received a Grammy nomination and won ACM Song of the Year in 1991, and Loveless’ “Here I Am,” Arata has called Nashville home for nearly 40 years.
Grammy Award winner Don Henry has written songs recorded by legends such as Ray Charles and Patti Page, as well as hitmakers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. He has performed in-the-round with artists ranging from Joey Ramone at New York’s Bottom Line to Keith Urban at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe. Kathy Mattea’s version of the Grammy-winning “Where’ve You Been” also earned Henry and co-writer Jon Vezner song of the year honors from the ACMs, CMAs, and NSAI—the first song in country music history to win all four in the same year.
In 2013, Lambert had a hit with “All Kinds of Kinds,” written by Henry and Phillip Coleman. (That’s Henry on background vocals.) He tours extensively as a solo performer, as half of The DonJuans with Vezner, and with folk legend Tom Paxton.
