Living History

Teach the Past. Inspire the Future.

Nestled in the heart of Northwest Tennessee, Discovery Park of America is a world-class, 100,000-square-foot museum surrounded by a 50-acre heritage park unlike anything else in the region. Indoors, guests can explore exhibit galleries focused on everything from natural history and science to military innovation and regional culture. Outdoors, they’ll step into a recreated frontier settlement, gristmill, one-room schoolhouse, historic chapel and more. Our spaces are built for storytelling, and we’re looking for passionate demonstrators, living historians and reenactors to help bring those stories to life.

More than 250,000 guests visit Discovery Park each year to connect with history and experience something new that sparks curiosity and imagination. Founded by Robert Kirkland, our mission is to inspire children and adults to see beyond. As Kirkland himself said, “Discovery Park of America should enhance education for children as well as adults and do it in an entertaining way.” There’s no better way to do that than through living history.
