The 2024 Discovery Camp will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily, Monday, July 8-Friday, July 12.

The cost is $100 for members and $125 for non-members. Lunch will be provided.

12-year-old through 17-year-old students will learn about a variety of scientific and historical topics through hands-on, engaging experiences across our Discovery Center and Heritage Park. Students will explore a variety of topics including:

Paleontology

• A fossil excavation program
• Discovery Park’s new Fossil Pit attraction

Greenhouse

• Learn about hydroponics and make a take-home hydroponic system
• Activities and programs in the Farm Credit Mid-America Educational Greenhouse
• Agricultural lesson located in the Simmons Bank Ag Center
• Wildflower garden tour and planting
• Plant Identification lesson involving a tour of the grounds

Wildlife

• Explore the natural ecosystems at Discovery Park’s Heritage Park through hands-on scientific exploration
• Interactions with the animals in the Reelfoot Exploration Gallery
