Since October 1998, the American Geosciences Institute has organized this national and international event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth. This year’s Earth Science Week will be held from October 9 – 15, 2022 and will celebrate the theme “Earth Science for a Sustainable World.” 

A Geoscience Celebration will be held at Discovery Park of America on Friday, Oct. 14.

Geo-Game Show hosted by Dr. Jefferson Rogers, Professor of Geography at the University of Tennessee at Martin – 11-11:45 a.m.

Sustainability Panel Discussion/Q&A—1-2 p.m.

Panelists include Sabrina Bates from Magic Valley Publishing; Derek and Micayla Giffin, owners of Giffin Farms in Obion County, Tennessee; Pastor George Pasley, local gardener who practices sustainability on a daily basis and Carolina Ideus from Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network.
