Scout Day at Discovery Park
May 9th @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday, May 9, 2026
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Scouts are invited to spend an exciting day of exploration and discovery during Scout Day at Discovery Park of America. This special event encourages scouts to engage with interactive exhibits and outdoor experiences while connecting their visit to badge requirements and learning opportunities.
Throughout the day, scouts can use Discovery Park’s Scout Guidebook to explore galleries tied to topics such as regional history, Native American culture, natural history, geology, astronomy and space exploration. Join Discovery Park educator Russell Orr throughout the day as he shares specific knowledge of our galleries and artifacts to those scouts looking for merit badge opportunities. Participants can also take part in the Cardboard Boat Regatta, a friendly competition which will sharpen your skills in designing and building boats for the ultimate test in the water.
You will discover:
- Badge-related learning experiences across multiple galleries
- Hands-on STEM and history activities throughout the park
- Teamwork and engineering skills during the Cardboard Boat Regatta
- Opportunities to explore nature, science and culture in one place
Scout Day is part of Discovery Park of America’s educational programming, offering structured and self-guided experiences that align with scouting goals while encouraging curiosity and exploration.
Scouts in uniform receive free admission. Scout families and guests may purchase regular admission. Participants may explore the museum, heritage park and Scout Guidebook activities throughout the day.
