Discovery Park of America announces lineup for the 2024 free summer concert series, “Rhythm on the Rails”

(Union City, Tenn., March 14, 2024) — Discovery Park of America has announced the lineup for the 2024 free summer concert series, “Rhythm on the Rails.” The concert series will take place on Friday evenings May 17 – June 28, 2024 on the Total Tech Solutions Stage on the south side of the park. The gate at the Train Depot entrance will open at 5 p.m., music will begin at 6 p.m. each Friday night.

Opening night for “Rhythm on the Rails” features The Dryes and Oliva Faye. The Dryes, Katelyn and Derek Drye, have been featured in “USA Today,” “Rolling Stone,” “People Magazine,” “American Songwriter,” “Country Living Magazine” and more. This husband and wife duo was featured on season 22 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Olivia Faye is a season 20 “American Idol” alumna, singer/songwriter and actress.

Returning to this year’s music festival will be a themed menu with different food and beverages available for purchase. A cash bar will also be open.

“Rhythm on the Rails” is presented in part with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission. The mission of the Tennessee Arts Commission is to stimulate and encourage the presentation of the visual, literary, musical and performing arts and to encourage public interest in the cultural heritage of Tennessee. The concert series is also sponsored by Blue Bank Resort and The Citizens Bank.

“Each year we’re seeing attendance at this event grow larger,” said Discovery Park’s events director, Lauren Jones. “Especially with the three hotels right next door, we’re welcoming many visitors from out of town who are coming to experience the live music, spend the night and then explore Discovery Park and the entire Reelfoot Lake region the rest of the weekend. It’s the perfect summer getaway for couples and families.”

While there is plenty of seating on The Depot’s deck and the benches around the fishing pier, guests can also bring their own blankets, chairs and fishing gear. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.

Guests who choose to sit in front of the stage will discover something new this year at “Rhythm on the Rails.” The area in front of the stage is being leveled so it will be more comfortable for seating.

“We welcomed nearly 1,000 guests at last year’s best-attended night,” said John Watkins, Discovery Park’s grounds director. “By making that space more assessable and adding more landscaping, we’re making it an even better place to relax and enjoy live music.”

The gate at the Train Depot will open at 5 p.m., music will begin at 6 p.m. Thanks to the support of Discovery Park’s partners, admission is free.
