Nature’s Ninjas features animals that thrive in their natural habitat because of their incredible defense skills. From snakes and scorpions to salamanders and  opossums, this unique exhibit showcases some of nature’s wildest defensive adaptations and lets our visitors get an up-close-and-personal experience with the animals, including a whip scorpion, a yellow spotted salamander, a black racer snake and even a Vietnamese giant centipede!

Through April 8 of this year, we’ll have 4 shows a day hosted by Dr. Dre, an expert who can entertain guests of all ages with his knowledge about each creature. During the show, Dr. Dre brings out several different animals, with each show is different than the rest since you never know what the animals will do! And adventurous visitors will even have the chance to feel the smooth belly of a snake and rub the bumpy skin of an American toad (under Dr. Dre’s supervision, of course).

CEO Jim Rippy said that the staff at Discovery Park is excited about this new exhibit. “Our guests love live animals,” Rippy said. “That’s one of the reasons we chose this exhibit,” he added. Rippy also said that from now through Jan. 31, all visitors to Discovery Park who are not members will receive half-price general admission, making this a great time to see the new exhibit at a very affordable price. “We are hoping that students will come out on school field trips to learn about how these incredible animals adapt to their  environment and their unique survival skills,” Rippy said.

The live animal exhibit is on display each Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the ATA Traveling Exhibit Hall at Discovery Park of America. Tickets are $5 per person for ages 4 and older, plus general admission to Discovery Park of America, and are available online, by calling 731-885-5455 and at the ticket counter (half-price general admission offer is only available at the ticket counter). Children 3 and under are FREE to Discovery Park and to Nature’s Ninjas.
